Once Upon A Grime

Joining the team in December 2017, I devised brand strategy; redesigned the website; curated exclusive content from a whole host of grime MCs, producers and DJs; attended shows, festivals, studio sessions and radio sets on behalf of the brand; and improved its social media presence. From April 2018 to August 2019, I served as the site’s Features Editor, coordinating song premieres, interviews and guest mixes as well as routine coverage of new releases.

Genius

My featured articles include an exclusive discovery about Kanye West’s unreleased Yeezus 2 project and an insight into Dizzee Rascal’s direct influence on the grime scene. Over the years, I’ve also acted as a de facto artist relations coordinator for Genius, verifying accounts for hundreds of musicians so that they can add and annotate their own lyrics, and directly liaising with artists to coordinate collaborative content and to ensure the accuracy of lyric transcriptions.

Bath Time

I mostly use the University of Bath’s student magazine as an outlet for reviewing concerts and club nights in Bath and Bristol. My subsequent articles have appeared exclusively in print editions of the magazine around campus.
